(a)

Definitions. The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Motor vehicle shall have the meaning set forth in Wis. Stats. § 340.01(35).

Overnight means a period of time in excess of six hours during the period 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following day.

(b)

Penalty. Any person violating this section shall be required to forfeit not less than $20.00 nor more than $40.00 for the first offense, and no less than $50.00 nor more than $100.00 for the second or subsequent conviction within one year.

(c)

Applicability and enforcement.

(1)

The provisions of this section shall apply to all lands owned by the city or for which the city has an easement, along with all city streets, alleys and parking areas and other facilities which are used and operated as boat launching facilities with parking areas and public parks.

(2)

This section shall be enforced by the police department.

(d)

Overnight parking and camping prohibited.

(1)

No person shall park a motor vehicle on an overnight basis or camp at any boat launching facility with adjacent parking area, or public park owned or operated by the city; or which is used by the public under easement to the city; or upon any city street, alley or parking area owned or operated by the city.

(2)

The council shall cause to be erected on all boat launching facilities with parking areas and all public parks owned, operated or under easement to the city, appropriate signs prohibiting overnight camping and motor vehicle parking at such facilities.
